  Nov. 2012 to Oct 2016    Bass Pro Shops – Senior Programmer Analyst

  • Supported and improved applications in warehouse management system applications written in RPG.   Systems included cross-dock application, firearms transaction support for record keeping and ATF audits, hazardous material handling applications, receiving, product flow, communications with various package carriers, conveyor belt systems, and others.
  • Worked on projects in full software development life cycle:  interviewed end users to determine specifications, conducted business analysis, designed solutions, developed testing strategies, developed systems, tested results, implemented solutions, and provided post-implementation monitoring and support as needed.
  • Assisted other developers with department on-boarding process.  This included documenting processes and training developers in the company SDLC process:  change advisory board, release advisory board, ticketing system, and process change control documents.

  • Utilized a combination of ILE RPG, php, javascript and other technologies to modernize business processes.  Continued support of company e-commerce web RPG-CGI applications.
  • Created integration process to place orders from third party application service provider and from .asp application.
  • Wrote java application to allow other systems to query item and inventory status.
  • Initiated video documentation system.  Implemented multiple monitoring systems to ensure system stability.

  • Independent consultant working for Widepoint Corp.  Emphasis in business to business supply chain and communications. Designed and created AS/400 web-commerce applications including product search, order entry, ship inquiry w/ UPS ground tracking.  Designed and coded interfaces between ILE RPG CGI programs and Vormittag and financial package databases.
  • Trained client’s staff on maintenance of web applications.

  • RPG programming on AS/400.  Heavy concentration on logistics, inventory, and warehouse management systems in higher education, food, and distribution industries.  
  • Lead research and system cleanup projects on two major Y2K projects,
  • Wrote monthly technical tip column for company newsletter and developed and presented several “lunch and learn” training sessions both for client and Infoware staff.
